The HM led Nigerian delegation to a High-level International Conference on International Decade for Action “2018-2028” holding in Dushanbe, Tajikistan from 20-22 June, 2018
The Honorable Minister of Water Resources, Engr Suleiman Adamu, FNSE led a Nigerian delegation to a High-level International Conference on International Decade for Action with the theme “Water for Sustainable Development, . The objectives of the conference are to deepen understanding of the Decade for Action, promote IWRM and galvanize action in support of the water-related SDGs. The Honorable Minister has delivered Nigeria Statement at the conference and also participated as Lead Speaker and Panelist in some of the conference sessions. The Minister was accompanied to the conference by Director of Water Supply and PPP, Engr Ajisegiri Benson, the Special Assistant to the HM, Engr Tauheed Amusan and Engr Mubarak Ladan, TA to the HM.Tajikistan is a country in Central Asia with a population of about 9 million people. It ranks the first in central Asia in terms of Water Resources and thus have vast inexhaustible reserves of hydropower estimated at 527 billion KWh of electricity per year. This is 3 times more than the existing electricity consumption in Central Asia. Dushanbe is a beautiful and very green city and was proclaimed City of Peace in 2001.
