FG IS SET TO COLLABORATE WITH ISRAEL TO SOLVE WATER CHALLENGES IN NIGERIA
The Federal Government is set to collaborate with the State of Israel to meet the challenges in the water sector in order to find lasting solutions that will provide water for irrigation and portable water for domestic use as well as combat water borne diseases in Nigeria.
The Permanent Secretary of Water Resources, Mrs. Comfort C. Ekaro disclosed this when the Ambassador of Israel to Nigeria paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry on Tuesday 25thJune, 2019 in Abuja.
Mrs. Ekaro noted that with identifying the challenges in the water sector, Nigeria will collaborate with Israel to work towards meeting the needs of Nigerians.
Earlier in his speech, the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Nigeria, Ambassador Shimon Ben-Shoshan said that Israel wants to establish a relationship with Nigeria and work as a team to solve the problems in the water sector using hybrid, water and cyber technologies.
“We want to share this knowledge with Nigeria as every nation has technology they use to solve problems”, he said.
In her vote of thanks; Director Information Department, Mrs. Kenechukwu Offie appreciated the Ambassador for coming to the Ministry and expressed her optimism that the visit will forge a more productive partnership between Nigeria and the State of Israel and further deepen the collaboration for the progress of Nigeria’s water resources development and management.
Present at the occasion were the Directors and other officials of the Ministry.
